 Position Title: Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Welding

Salary Grade: 57-58

Dept: Metals & Mechansism Business Unit

Location: Plymouth, MI

Travel Associated w/Position: 30-40%

Responsibilities (New Cells):

- Work with purchasing to assure new weld cells & fixtures are kicked off per program timing

- Follow build & construction of new weld cells & fixtures during build at supplier location

- Conduct initial run-off at supplier location prior to shipping to plant (NEMx & LW)

- Assure weld programming meets customer requirements for cut & etch

- Assure weld cells meet JCI requirements for capability & process templates (rate/uptime/weld quality/poke yoke)

- Work with plant engineering staff to install equipment at production site location

- Work with plant engineering staff to conduct final run at rate at production site location

- Complete weld parameter and set-up documentation for each weld cell

- Own issues list and actions to closure

Responsibility (Relocated Cells):

- Participate in exit audits for each cell at current location

- Develop and maintain issues list from audit

- Develop technical specification (from audit results) to define required re-build prior to move

- Conduct initial run-off at supplier location prior to shipping to plant (NEMx & LW)

- Assure weld programming meets customer requirements for cut & etch

- Assure weld cells meet JCI requirements for capability & process templates (rate/uptime/weld quality/poke yoke)

- Work with plant engineering staff to install equipment at production site location

- Work with plant engineering staff to conduct final run at rate at production site location

- Complete weld parameter and set-up documentation for each weld cell

- Own issues list and actions to closure

Qualifications

 

- Bachelor of Science engineering degree or equivalent experience

- 10+ years experience in manufacturing

- Skilled in problem solving

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Proven interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills

- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments

- Display of good follow through and attention to detail
