About the Opportunity

Thomas Mechanics Services has openings for talented Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanics and/or a 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice to join their team in Grande Prairie, AB.

In this challenging role, you will chiefly be responsible for performing maintenance on heavy equipment. More specifically, in this full time position you will be required to:

• Service, repair, assemble, and test equipment such as engines, transmissions, and electrical and hydraulic systems;
• Complete overhauls and routine repair work;
• Troubleshoot and perform diagnostics for engines and electronics;
• Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation;
• Perform CVIP inspections; and
• Mentor apprentices and other employees to develop their trade skills;

We want to speak with you if you are a Journeyperson or 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic. To be successful in this role, you must also have a clean driver's abstract and be able to lift 25 kg. A valid driver's license is essential.

Also, if you can bring previous experience to the table, along with First Aid, H2S certification, a Class 1 license, a CVIP license, AC experience, and a WHMIS safety ticket, it will be considered a definite advantage!

You will be given the opportunity to work over-time and must be available for on-call on a rotational basis. Because you will be in constant communication with employees, clients, and suppliers, you need to be a savvy communicator when it comes to relaying your ideas through written or verbal mediums. Additionally, you are a punctual, flexible individual who is comfortable working with computers.
