Position Parts Technician
Job ID# 1208
Reporting To Parts Supervisor
Key Accountabilities
  • Manage the daily functions of the truck parts operations, including procuring, ordering, backorders, core processing, picking and delivery of parts to internal and external customers
  • Process email and phone orders as well as sell parts over the counter
  • Ensure customers requirements are met in an efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner
  • Maintain the parts physical and electronic inventory and assemble hydraulic hoses to the CAT Standards
  • Process all core `return`s and warranty truck parts
  • Provide all required functions of the truck parts operation as necessary
  • Provide on call service on weekends for emergency parts orders and all other required functions of the parts operations as necessary
  • Participate in safe work and environmentally sound behaviours and objectives at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy/Program(s) and best practices
Key Qualifications
  • Post Secondary Education and 3+ years experience on a truck parts counter or inside sales role
  • Must have technical/mechanical aptitude and an extensive background in truck parts and repair
  • Customer centric with strong interpersonal skills and relationship building capacity
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Self starter, independent and a team player with a sense of urgency
  • Experience with the Toromont Truck/CAT Parts Operations is an asset
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of CAT SIS and DBS
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours and shifts to support the business needs
  • Bilingual in English and French would be an asset
