Chemical Technician I

The Chemical Technician is responsible for gathering and processing analytical data for unconventional hydrocarbon experiments.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures all Workplace Safety, Environmental and National Safety Code Policies and Regulations are being adhered to
• Assists in sample preparation to established CBMS standards
• Assists in core-handling and preparation
• Makes & enter desorption measurements
• Completes training on analytical equipment for unconventional projects
• Runs, under supervision, all standard analytical lab equipment
• General lab housekeeping
• Potentials field technician duties

Experience & Skills:

• Technical Diploma in Chemistry or equivalent experience
• Minimum 1 year experience in the lab or equivalent
• Valid Class 5 license. Fewer than 6 demerit points
• Effective interpersonal skills (spoken and written communication)
• Proficiency in computer programs in the Microsoft Office suite
