Horizon Oil Sands Horizon Oil Sands is an exciting part of our growth. Full production capacity for Phase 1 is 110,000 bbl/d of fully upgraded, light, sweet synthetic crude oil. We will see incremental production gains throughout the completion of future expansion and debottlenecking, with targeted full facility capacity of approximately 250,000 bbl/d. Further phases of expansion will bring the ultimate capacity to 500,000 bbl/d.

Position Summary
THE OPPORTUNITY: Using your technical expertise and many years of engineering experience, you will play a vital role in a newly established engineering team, dealing primarily with buildings and structures around the plant site, infrastructure, drainage areas and roads. • Working within the Operations and Projects Services Group, take part in full cycle engineering responsibilities. This includes: o Design of new structures and foundations o Modifications to existing structures (such as new platforms, access ladders, pipe supports, enclosures, replacement or addition of steel to existing facilities, etc.) o Modifications to small new structures with foundations and civil works (land grading, culverts,ditches, pond linings and erosion control) • Pioneer the newly implemented building permits process and procedures which will impact the group and Horizon as a whole.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK? As a seasoned Engineer contribute your oil and gas experience to: • Prepare engineering designs, in house engineering proposals, cost estimates and work progress reports for using information from Canadian Natural sources, contractors and consultants • Conduct research with regards to potential engineering solutions to engineering difficulties encountered within the plants support infrastructure. • Perform reviews of proposed submissions for building permits and assist in preparation, monitoring and reporting on the process for the plant maintenance upgrade and expansion projects • Contribute to maintaining and upgrading existing Horizon Professionals practice management system • Assist in monitoring civil engineering activities for compliance with applicable company standards and specifications, industry legislation and codes of practice
