Horizon Oil Sands
Horizon Oil Sands is an exciting part of our growth. Full production capacity for Phase 1 is 110,000 bbl/d of fully upgraded, light, sweet synthetic crude oil. We will see incremental production gains throughout the completion of future expansion and debottlenecking, with targeted full facility capacity of approximately 250,000 bbl/d. Further phases of expansion will bring the ultimate capacity to 500,000 bbl/d.

This position is based in Fort McMurray, Alberta and is eligible for:
• Relocation to Calgary or Fort McMurray

THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our Horizon Oil Sands operation is expanding with project spending for 2012 forecasted at approximately $2 Billion with similar spending projected each year for the next 5 years.

The Civil/Structural Design Drafter will provide drafting and design support to the Services and Infrastructure team. This role will utilize discipline specific AUTOCAD applications to prepare plans, diagrams and drawings.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
• Translate engineering briefs and sketches into final designs
• Ensure the design and drafting complies with Canadian Natural engineering procedures, codes and standards
• Prepare and update drawings related to all aspects of civil/structural development including:
• Buildings
• Foundations
• Plants
• Roads
• Ditches
• Underground services
• Storm pumps
• Containment
• Ensure drawings are checked, approved and filed in accordance with the relevant quality system procedure
• Plan and prioritize work to ensure that functional project requirements on scope and time are met
• Work as directed within the guidelines of building, gas and plumbing Safety Codes

QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years design experience
• Engineering Design and Drafting Technology diploma or other relevant degree
• Proficient in AUTOCAD and/or MICROSTATION and/or INROADS
