Upstream Americas searches for and recovers oiland natural gas across the Americas. Many of these activities are carried outas joint venture partnerships, including with national oil companies. Thebusiness is organized into four major business units along key resourcedevelopment lines, which includes Deep Water, Exploration and Commercial, HeavyOil, and Onshore Gas. Upstream Americas includes our oil sandsoperations, which extracts bitumen from oil sands and converts it to syntheticcrudes. Our wind power business is also part of this organization. Responsibilities:
Managing the offshore U.S. completion and well intervention operations for the fields assigned
Supervising GOM-type operations (installation of sand control equipment and upper completions, pumping frac-n-pack or gravel pack operations, etc.)
Managing the completion and well intervention operations
Managing the HSSE, operational, contractor management and best practice sharing considerations to execute new well completions and workovers
Reviewing/executing engineering plans, mentoring less experienced personnel, analyzing/managing project risk, working closely with engineering in the execution of the operations, tracking/managing trouble time and costs and driving performance to lower costs and increase production
Commitment to HSSE through training, integrating HSSE into work plans/activities, managing contractor performance through established processes, and supporting sustainable development activities
Mentoring less experienced staff and also managing contractors to achieve alignment between Shell and contractor goals
Actively interacting with the Wells superintendents,engineers, HSSE staff and contractors
Experience forming relationships and alliances with contractor staff, regulatory staff, JV partners, Contracts and Procurement (CP)staff, HSSE and HR
GOM CWI operations generally consist of:
Work on extended reach, high MRI (>6000),high rate,high ultimate production wells
TLP slot reclamation
New well completions (including sidetracks)
Workovers and recompletions (including fishing)
Sand control including frac packs
Waterflood wells (injectors and producers)
Wireline (slick, braided, and electric)
Coiled tubing (LPCT and HPCT)
Well abandonments (with rig or rigless)Stimulations(acid, tubing washes, etc.)
Requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
5 years of industry experience including completion and well intervention engineering and operations
High school diploma
Experience in the process to deliver well operations including implementation of new technologies
Experience in the field for planning and executing daily operations
Sound HSSE management techniques and the commitment to deliver HSSE performance
Experience dealing with competing priorities: decisions are made without undue delay, demonstrated flexibility regarding prioritization and re-deployment of resources/staff
Ability to travel offshore and overseas travel
Preferred Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited University
Experience in extended-reach, highly complex wells
