Devon Canada has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Systems Analyst to join the GeoScience Solutions team. The successful candidate will provide technical advice and support of GeoScience applications to Devon's Exploration Divisions. The candidate must possess or have the ability to learn those technical and application skills necessary to modify and maintain G&G technical applications and data structures in accordance with established standards within BI&T and the Business in a cost effective and productive manner. This position will involve the support of interpretive, analytical, mapping and data management GeoScience applications including the planning and implementation of new solutions and upgrades.

Responsibilities:

• Provide primary support to the Canadian Exploration Business Division User Community
• Provide Geological and Geophysical application support on Linux and Windows based systems
• Respond to Incidents and Service Requests
• Deployment, Installation and Upgrades of Linux and Windows based GeoScience applications
• Application workflow analysis, documentation and troubleshooting
• Coordinate Vendor Support/Training/Seminars
• Evaluation and Implementation of new Applications and Data Sources
• Support the conversion, integration and flow of data for use in various applications
• Maintain Linux and Windows scripts and processes that support application launching, user configuration, project access, etc.
• Data base and model support

Qualifications:

• The successful candidate will have 10+ years of experience
• Degree in Geology, Geophysics, Cartography or Spatial is preferable
• GeoScience Application Domain knowledge
• Applications include but not limited to Petra, Seisware, Petrel, Paradigm EPOS4, Hampson-Russell, Landmark OpenWorks, Petrosys, AccuMap, PetroLab, GeoStation, Transform
• Knowledge of application license management
• Knowledge of Oracle /SQL and other Data Base skills
• Knowledge of PPDM and other GeoScience Data Models
• Knowledge of ESRI and other GIS tools
• An understanding of geological and geophysical workflows and tasks
• Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with Business Partners to achieve a common goal
• Problem solving and customer service skills
• Experience with a Service Ticket system
