About the Opportunity
Wapiti Gravel Suppliers is actively searching for a Highway Paving Superintendent in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
In this full-time, seasonal role, you will chiefly be responsible for coordinating and supervising the road and asphalt plant crews.
On a daily basis, you will be responsible for:
Ordering materials, trucking, and scheduling;
Ensuring that worksites are signed properly and guaranteeing that traffic movements are safe and efficient;
Scheduling sub-contractors;
Tracking job costs; and
Overseeing the timely submission of timesheets and foreman’s reports.
It is important that you have experience reporting and working with project managers, estimators, and testers. You will also need the ability to measure, verify, and comply with all company, governmental, and environmental safety and health regulations. Knowledge of traffic accommodation, strategies and environmental construction operation plans is also a must, as is experience in reading and interpreting blue print drawings and specifications.
You’ll be successful in the role if you have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as you will be in constant collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders. Also, you’ll need to be proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
