Responsibilities:


• Part of the Wells Technology Deployment Team with responsibilities to transfer UBD and/or MPD technology into the Operating Units and support the Well Delivery Teams applying the technologies. Responsibilities will include:
o Working with Operating Unit’s sub-surface and well engineering teams during the project definition and concept selection phases to identify where UBD or MPD can add value,assisting in feasibility studies,equipment selection and cost estimating.
o Post project approval,assisting with contracting of UBD/MPD services,checking procedures and conducting pre-operations readiness audits.

• Manage the interface between UBD/MPD service suppliers and Shell
o Identify opportunities for HSSE risk reduction and champion industry changes.
o Identify opportunities for global specification changes to reduce HSSE risk or cost and work with service suppliers to implement.
o Manage global UBD/MPD agreements with the service suppliers (e.g. Contracting Global Framework Agreements,Confidentiality Agreements,etc.).

• Manage and maintain the Blade Engineering UBD/MPD partnership including
o Act as Financial Contract Holder.
o Negotiate annual contract renewal terms.
o Lead ongoing partnership planning meetings forecasting contract engineering needs and ensuring competent staff are allocated to new projects.

• Actively participate in Shell’s UBD/MPD common interest network



Requirements:


• Minimum of 10 years direct experience in UBD/MPD engineering, operations and/or projects as a member of a sub-surface team. 

• Minimum BS in Engineering or Geology 

• Must be willing to relocate to Houston, USA or Rijswijk, Netherlands (to be determined) 


Preference will be given to candidates that have; 

• Well-developed inter-personal skills, and a good team player that enjoys working in multidisciplinary organizations 
• A willingness to travel – this is a role which will support UBD/MPD projects globally 
• The technical capacity to bridge between sub-surface teams and operations engineering teams on UBD/MPD issues 
• An in-depth knowledge of UBD/MPD equipment design and function. 
• An in-depth knowledge of UBD/MPD value drivers and sub-surface applications. 
• The ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds. The job may involve working with government or partner representatives. 
• A broad knowledge of well technology and operations 
• The capacity to work constructively with and influence both senior Shell management and well-site operations staff.
