Description:
A tremendous growth in environmental awareness is fueling the need for highly skilled environmental technologists.
With a focus on laboratory analysis and some field work, you'll learn about biology, gather and study air and water samples, investigate environmental legislation and study the principles of waste management and meteorology.
In today's highly automated laboratories, the experience you'll gain with Fanshawe's state-of-the-art instrumentation will give you an edge with employers.
Graduates will complete a minimum of 12 months and maximum of 16 months of co-op during the 3-year program.
Graduates of the Environmental Technology program enjoy excellent employment opportunities. Some find careers in provincial and federal regulatory agencies and in industry. Others find positions in pollution measurement and control services, and public and private research enterprises.
For those graduates with an entrepreneurial spirit, environmental consulting is an exciting option.
Many also choose to continue their education and find that Fanshawe's articulation agreements translate into credits toward select university programs.
Motivated by your appreciation and respect for the natural environment, success in the Environmental Technology program can lead you to a successful career!
