JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Field Superintendent’s primary responsibility is the training and development of Field Foreman, Assistant Foreman and Craftsmen in the construction of above ground storage tanks in a safe and economical manner in keeping with established plans and procedures. The Field Superintendent acts as a resource for job planning and execution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop field foremen, assistant foremen and craftsmen. Assist field foreman to ensure good construction practices are maintained.
• Develop construction procedures to meet Division needs.
• Aid operations and project management in pre job planning.
• Train individuals and foremen on erection procedures and weld processes to enhance efficiencies.
• Field QC representative. Performs QC audits at job sites while performing other duties
• Additional point of contact on field related problems.
• Able to communicate effectively with field foremen, project managers and customers.
• Replace Foremen on the job when required.
• Insure compliance with all safety procedures and policies. Perform Safety audits at job sites.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         10+ years experience as a tank builder with at least 5 years as a field foreman.

·         Thorough understanding of industry practices, codes and standards.

·         Good communications and interpersonal skills.

·         Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance.

·         Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

PHYSICAL/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

·         Extensive travel – out of the office approximately 80% of the time.

·         Able to climb/walk on any project being built.

·         Perform work required of a field foreman while replacing one.
