Under the general supervision of the Project Finance Manager, prepare both internal JCI and customer monthly accounting and financial reporting packages as required for the project site. Support the development and implementation of appropriate financial analysis tools and the maintenance of a sound internal control structure to ensure appropriate profitability for the project. Independent and team project management skills are essential.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Prepares in-depth financial and operational analysis of the monthly financial results for given local areas. Works with Operations to understand the drivers causing the budget versus actual variances and, when necessary, recommend and implement corrective action.
Be responsible for the accurate preparation and timely communication of financial results and analysis of monthly performance to Operations and Senior JCI Management and customer management. Coordinates the implementation of recommended actions. Consolidates and prepares monthly analysis of Guaranteed Maximum Price, Shared Savings, Fee-at-Risk projects and other relevant contract terms and conditions.
Reviews existing financial processes and develop action plans to improve profitability, streamline processes and improve customer satisfaction. Work with staff to implement systematic solutions.
Develops and maintain internal control tools (Financial Policies & Procedures) to manage costs and safeguard assets. Implements cost savings initiatives across projects and local areas.
Assists Operations in development of plans and forecasts; review such plans and forecasts to determine integrity of data submitted.
Works with Operations to identify problem areas and develop plans to resolve issues in a timely manner. Coordinates sharing of information and lessons learned with rest of department.
Provides accounting and analytical support for operational groups by working as a financial partner in analyzing ways to improve the profitability of their operations and building a strong working relationship with the Operations team
Assists in training finance and operations staff to operate efficiently and effectively in a team environment to ensure commercial sound business processes and decisions are implemented.
As necessary, coordinates and performs compliance reviews to ensure projects adhere to external rules, guidelines and/or regulations.
Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment and willing to perform any other non-specific job related duties as requested.
Qualifications
BA/BS Degree in Finance or Accounting (MBA, CMA or CPA preferred). Minimum of five years of progressive finance and accounting experience is needed and a broad knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Superior analytical, presentation, written and verbal communication skills are required. Proficiency with MS Excel and other MS Office tools is required. Knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion and/or other relational databases is a plus. Must be committed to participative management style and maintaining a quality team environment.
