Under general direction, delivers profitable growth of the Johnson Controls HVAC Systems business within a defined set of Branches. Ensures plan achievement of controls line of business. Works in collaboration with the Regional HVAC Sales Manager to ensure market share growth of the equipment business. Leads Branches to develop annual business plans that align with the overall Region plan. Emphasis on coaching to plan/forecast achievement (i.e. secured sales, executed GM, cash flow, EBIT) on a monthly/quarterly basis. Leverages Continuous Improvement processes as a primary vehicle to drive business results to plan level. Drives share growth year over year across all segments of the market (BMA for Controls and ARI for equipment) while sustaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Works and coordinates with all Johnson Controls business units to maximize shareholder `return` and long-term profitability of the overall business.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
  1. Leads and fosters a safe working environment with expectations of zero lost time and zero recordable incidents. Ensures everyone in the branch participates in the safety effort.
  2. Works with Branch Managers to develop and execute a business plan focused on increasing shareholder value as measured by achieving profitability (EBIT), sales (marketshare) and TWC objectives.
  3. Ensures all assigned branches communicate and implement an Action Plan (in the survey tool) to improve employee engagement.
  4. Ensures all assigned branches deliver on plan to improve employee and supplier diversity objectives. Each branch to complete a recruiting and retention (succession) plan.
  5. Ensures all employee annual performance reviews and development plans are complete on-time.
  6. Coaches Branch Management to produce and deliver accurate forecasts (December, March and June) for Branch's financial objectives/ targets.
  7. Leads monthly review of Branch sales and operation's performance verse plan /forecast to determine gaps. Utilizes ""action tracker"" tool to bridge gaps.
  8. Accountable for accurate Mid Month forecasts and results for Sales, Revenue, Executed Margin, Backlog, Billings, and Collections (primary focus on controls LOB), collaborate with Regional HVAC Sales Manager on equipment). Participates in Region Mid Month Review with Systems Leadership Team.
  9. Leads the Continuous Improvement effort across assigned branches. Ensure progress to key metrics as measured on BBP scorecard monthly. Places priority on top 10 metrics shared across all Systems HVAC branches.
  10. Ensures that branches use standard tools (i.e. SMIS, AIM, BERT, IBS, GPAS, BBP etc.)
  11. Increases ""blue"" content on branch business (products, FCU's, VAV's, CUE, VSD etc.) measured in CUE growth and ""buy blue"" metrics in BBP.
  12. In line with Mid Market Strategy, coaches account management principles to meet portfolio sell objectives identified in BBP scorecard. Ensures the development and maintenance of Account Plans.
  13. Practices account management through executive sponsor or selected Key and Target Customers in assigned branches.
  14. Works with Region Team Members (Region Controller, Financial Business Analyst) to oversee Branch financial management following the policies and standards of Johnson Controls and with a stewardship that creates long-term viability for the Branch..
  15. Monitors customer satisfaction and takes action to address satisfaction issues in a prompt and non-defensive manner.
  16. Acts and manages the Branch with honesty and integrity, following the highest ethical standards; complies with all local, state and Federal regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering with a minimum of five years of P&L experience. Master's degree preferred.
Ten years progressive sales and operational experience in the HVAC systems industry.
Experience in a lead or supervisory role with responsibility for the productivity or development of others.
This position requires extensive familiarity with financial planning (income statement, balance sheet) along with operations and sales management.
Requires the approval of the Vice President and General Management of Systems North America.
